The
Brotherhood would also like to thank Tyler Brooks, David
Johnson, and Joseph Laseter for getting all A's on there report
card the first quarter of the 2007-2008 school year.
Thank
Mr. Anthony Downing for leading the fund raisers.
He helped the brotherhood raise over $700. He also created a
brotherhood Step team.
Thank you to Mr. Ghian Foreman and NBA star Chris Webber for
sponsoring our 2006 Freedom College Tour.
We would like
to thank Ms. Julie Stanton for sponsoring the coach bus to
attend our 3rd Annual Male Leadership Retreat at
Northern Illinois University.
We would like to thank Mr. Cory Adams, Kenwood Alum, and the
technology staff at North Carolina A&T University for sponsoring
our 2nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Videoconference
which was held January, 2006.
The
BROTHERHOOD would like to Thank
Mrs. Joyce Brown, the Guidance
Counseling Department chairperson, for her untiring support and
empowerment of children of all ages. She recognized the need
for a male mentoring/leadership program at Kenwood Academy and
pushed for it's birth and development. In February of 2004 we
honored Mrs. Brown with a live plant which she can nurture and
watch it grow symbolic to the lives that she have affected.The

Thank Ms Elizabeth Kirby,
Principal of Kenwood for her continuous encouragement and
financial support. Her contemporary ideas introduced us to
academic excellence, cultural awareness, and career
exploration. We would like to Thank
Mr. Arthur Slater, Former Principal of Kenwood
for giving the approval for our new organization to exist. He
have proven very supportive of the idea of teaching males to be
leaders of themselves, their families, within their community
and at Kenwood Academy.
We also would like
to Thank Ms Veniece Bradley,
Postsecondary education coach for suggesting and funding our 1st
Annual Male Leadership Retreat at Northern Illinois University
in May, 2004. She organized a retreat that introduced The
Brotherhood of Kenwood Academy to the process of securing a post
secondary education. |
